Lady Monarchs Post Important 57-47 Road Win Over Eastern

KING'S WOMEN POST IMPORTANT 57-47 FREEDOM ROAD VICTORY OVER EASTERN
ST. DAVID'S -- After dropping their past two Freedom Conference games, the King's College women's basketball team picked up a much-needed victory as the Lady Monarchs posted an important 57-47 league victory by going on the road to defeat host Eastern University Wednesday in St. David's.
With the win, King's improved to 10-10 overall and 5-4 in Freedom Conference games. Eastern, meanwhile, fell to 5-12 and 0-9 in conference play.
Freshman point-guard Celia Rader, who returned to the lineup on Saturday after missing 10 games with an illness, came off the bench to spark King's to a 27-21 half-time lead and finished with a game-high 14 points, including two three-pointers. Freshman small forward Megan Rigous followed with 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists, including three treys. Sophomore guard-forward Paige Carlin added 10 points while sophomore power forward Julianna Lynott contributed with nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. Sophomore point-guard Brittany Muscatell chipped in with four assists.
King's returns the road again on Saturday when the Lady Monarchs travel to Madison, NJ to face FDU-Florham in another key conference pairing set to tip off at 1:00 p.m.
