KING'S GALVIN NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE SOFTBALL "PLAYER OF THE WEEK"
 
ANNVILLE -- King's College softball standout Meaghan Galvin (Washingtonville, NY/John S. Burke) has been named the Freedom Conference "Player of the Week" the Middle Atlantic Conferences Office announced Monday.
 
Galvin batted .667 (10-15) for the week in leading King's to a 4-0 mark against two Freedom Conference contenders. King's swept Freedom Conference pre-season favorite Misericordia and fourth-place pick Delaware Valley in a pair of doubleheaders.
 
In game-one against Misericordia she went 2-for-3 and scored the winning run in the ninth inning after reaching base on a leadoff single. With game-two of the doubleheader tied 3-for-3, she ignited a six-run fourth inning with a leadoff single and scored what proved to be the game-winning run.
 
Against Delaware Valley, she helped King's overcome a 3-0 deficit in the first game by going 2-for-3 with two runs. In game two she helped King's overcome a 7-4 deficit by going 4-for-5 in the contest.

King's returns to action Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. against SUNY-Oneonta in Oneonta, NY.
