King's Presents MAC Hall of Fame Award to Mary Beth Bowler

KING'S PRESENTS MAC HALL OF FAME AWARD TO MARY BETH BOWLER

WILKES-BARRE -- Wednesday night King's College recognized one of the college's all-time greatest athletes when former women's basketball star Mary Beth Bowler was honored for her selection to the Middle Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame.

Bowler, who starred at King's from 1979-83, was presented with her MAC Hall of Fame plaque during halftime of the King's men's basketball game against Wilkes, which the Monarchs won 67-60.

The all-time leading scorer in Lady Monarch history with 2,024 points, Bowler was a two-time Division III All-American at King's and led the nation in scoring in 1982-83 with a 25.9 points per-game average. She was also a four-time All-MAC selection. Bowleralso set King's single game record of 44 points against Lycoming on February 25, 1980, a number which still stands today.

During the presentation, which was made by King's director of athletics Cheryl Ish, a list of several of Bowler's accomplishments were announced.
