City Take Finishes Third at Monarch Classic

City Tech Defeats Montclair in Consolation Game of Monarch Tournament
WILKES-BARRE--- In the third-place game of the 2008 Ramada Inn/ Monarch Classic Saturday afternoon, New York City Tech won over Montclair State by a score of 54-46. With the win, Yellow Jackets improve to 1-1 on the season and Montclair falls to 0-2.
City Tech was paced by Ryan Phillips, who scored 16 points and had eight total rebounds and went 6-7 from the free-throw line. Jamaal Hall added 13 points and four rebounds as well as four assists and four steals and was 5-6 from the line. Roman Perez and Gabriel Davis both added five points. As a team, City Tech shot 19-48 from the field, going 39.6 percent in shooting.
For the Red Hawks, Ken Dudley led the team with 10 points and six total rebounds and made two blocks in the game. James Williams and Sean Young both added seven points. Young also grabbed six rebounds. Daniel McRae led all rebounders with nine, five coming on the offensive side of the court.
After the championship game, the all tournament team was announced. From City Tech, Jamaal Hall was selected to the squad. On the weekend, Hall totaled an impressive 52 points, including 37 in the first round.
