KING'S WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ENJOYS BEST MAC FINISH EVER WITH 6TH PLACE SHOWING

CENTER VALLEY  – The King's College women's cross team posted its best finish ever as the Lady Monarchs placed 6th among 14 teams at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday at DeSales University, Center Valley.

King's finished with 150 points, trailing team champion Elizabethtown (56), Messiah (60), Misericordia (100), Lebanon Valley (128) and Delaware Valley (147).

Molly Brown was the top King's finisher, placing 17th among a field of 129 finishers with a time of 25:48.46 in the 6,000-meter event. Tori Posatko (left) was 20th, running a 25:50.98. Both Brown and Posatko earned second-team All-MAC honors with their finish.
 
Heather Elphick came in 27th at 26:10.38 as the Lady Monarchs placed three runners in the top 30.
Shannon McGowan crossed the line in 46th position with a 27:14.69 while Kirstie Nicol finished 59th at 28:32.74. Madeline Schiminger was 64th at 28:43.23. Heather Elphick ran a 30:40.44 to finish 89th; Rachel Barto was 101st at 31:50.58; while Hannah Eckles rounded out the Lady Monarch runners with at 36:33.72 to finish 123rd.
 
King's will next compete in the NCAA Mid-East Regional Championships November 14 at Lehigh University, Bethlehem.
