Greeley Returning to Bluefield for 12th Season of MLB Minor League Coaching

KING'S BASEBALL COACH GREELEY SET FOR 12TH PRO SEASON
 
WILKES-BARRE -- King's College Baseball coach Jerry Greeley will return to the Baltimore Orioles minor league system when he reported to Bluefield, WV on June 21 to serve as a coach for the Bluefield Orioles of the Appalachian League. It will mark his fifth straight year assigned to Bluefield and his 10th overall with the Orioles organization.
 
The 2009 season will be Greeley's 12th year as a professional coach in Major League Baseball's minor league system, as he also spent two years as a minor league coach with the Cincinnati Reds in 2002 and 2003. This is Greeley's second stint in the Baltimore organization as he spent 1997-98 in Bluefield and 1999-2001 with the Orioles Gulf Coast League team in Sarasota FL.
 
Bluefield will open their 68 game schedule on Tuesday June 23rd with a three game series at home against the defending Appalachian league champion Elizabethton Twins.
 
At King's, Greeley has led the Monarchs to the Freedom Conference playoffs in five of his seven seasons as the head coach. He recently was honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association for reaching the 700 win milestone. He has a 777-380-3 overall career coaching record.
