King's Swim Teams Suffer Defeats Against Mount Saint Mary College

KING'S SWIMMING TEAMS SUFFER DEFEATS AGAINST MOUNT SAINT MARY COLLEGE

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The King's College swim teams hosted Mount Saint Mary College Saturday afternoon at the Scandlon Pool. The men's squad dropped a 103-61 decision, while the women's team fell 103-97 in a close contest.

 

For the men, Joshua DeBellas finished second in the 1000 freestyle at 11:34.16. Justin Weilert was second in the 200 butterfly (2:26.75) and second in the 200 IM (2:19.26) for King's. Jack Harrington took home first in the 100 freestyle at 54.71, while Eric Stencovage grabbed first in the 50 freestyle at 24.11.

 

The team of Stencovage, DeBellas, Harrington, and Joe Wescoat placed first in the 400 freestyle relay at 3:53.11.

 

For the women, Patricia Manning broke a school record in the 200 breaststroke while capturing first place with a time of 2:37.08. Manning also placed first in the 200 IM (2:21.96) and 200 butterfly (2:24.38). Other first place finishes included Rebecca Smith (1000 freestyle/12:07.90), Amanda Casey (200 backstroke/2:34.17), and Maggie Nealer (500 freestyle/5:48.45).


The team of C. Casey, A. Casey, Krystna Homanko, and Nealer finished first in the 400 freestyle relay at 4:11.06.
 

King's will return to the pool next Saturday when they welcome Misericordia University for a meet at 1:00 p.m. at the Scandlon Pool.
