KING'S MEN'S SWIMMERS SET 800-FREESTYLE RELAY RECORD, RANK 6TH AFTER SECOND DAY OF MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's swim team set one school record and stand in sixth place after the second day of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday at the Wilkes-Barre C.Y.C.
In the men's 200-freestyle, Monarch freshman Mike Sweeney was sixth with a time of 1:49.57.  King's rookie Kyle Newton was seventh on the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:02.66

In the 800-freestyle relay, King's team of Newton, Sweeney, Justin Weilert, and Brian Matylewicz placed fifth, posting a school-record time of 7:35.30.
In the 200-medley relay, the Monarch team of Sweeney, Newton, Weilert, and Richie Guth were seventh with a 1:47.92.

Swimming concludes Sunday with the preliminaries scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
