SWIMMING ON THE ROAD AT CABRINI
Women Also Against College of Notre Dame
WILKES-BARRE--- This weekend both the men's and women's swim teams will be on the road to face non-conference foe Cabrini College. The women's team will also be swimming against the College of Notre Dame. Meet time is set to begin at 12:00pm (noon) in Radnor, PA.
Just one meet into this season, the men's team is 0-1 and look to get off on the right foot early this season. Boasting a young squad, including eight freshmen, many swimmers will look to pick up more experience at the college level before the tough conference schedule begins. Sophomore Eric Stencovage will be the experience on the 200 medley relay team, who won their race at Lebanon Valley with a time of 2:03.33. The team is compromised of Brandon Senese, Stencovage, and James Martin, with the fourth spot open for this meet. Individually, Stencovage won the 100 meter backstroke while freshman Josh Debellas took second in the 800 meter freestyle. Fellow freshmen John Harrington grabbed second and Jason Witts took third in the 200 meter freestyle.
On the women's team, the 0-1 Monarchs also look to grab their first win early into the season. The 200 meter medley relay team of Amanda Casey, Alisha Wainwright, Sarah Schmader and Maggie Nealer took the top spot against Lebanon Valley with a time of 2:20.89. Becca Smith finished first in the 800 meter freestyle and Casey won the backstroke at 100 meters. Nealer captured the first place in the 400 meter freestyle and Casey took second while Casey Cloman snagged third in the 50 meter freestyle.
The next meet for both King's teams will be Wednesday November 12 when they travel to Elizabethtown College for their second conference meet of the year. The time is set for 6:00pm.
