Swimming Splits with Cazenovia, Misericordia

MEN'S/ WOMEN'S SWIMMING SPLIT WITH MISERICORDIA, CAZENOVIA

WILKES-BARRE, --- In one of the few home meets for the King's swim teams, both the men and the women split wins and losses with Misericordia and Cazenovia. The Lady Monarchs down Cazenovia 80-42, but fell to Misericordia 81-41, while the men topped Cazenovia 95-18 and lost to Misericordia 75-41.

With the split, the women's record now stands at 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the MAC, and the men are now 1-5 and 0-3 in the league.

For the Monarchs, the 200 yard medley relay of Brent Nailor, Eric
Stencovage, Jim Martin and Josh Debellas finished second in their heat with
a time of 1:52.01. King's grabbed the top spot in the 200 yard freestyle
relay as well, with the team of John Harrington, Brandon Senese, Stencovage
and Dave Washick in a time of 1:41.35.

Individually, Harrington came in second in the 100 yard freestyle, finishing
in 53.37, and first in the 500 yard freestyle, completing in 5:51.65. The
duo of Sense and Stencovage finished first and second respectivaly in the
100 yard butterfly, Senese in 1:01.36 and Stencovage in 1:06.35. In the 200
yard IM, Martin and Senese also finished in the top two spots, Martin
finishing in 2:21.11 and Senese in 2:26.84.

On the women's side, individual winners included Maggie Nealer in 1,000 yard
freestyle with a time of 12:16.14. Nealer also grabbed the top spot in the
500 yard freestyle in 6:01.18. Amanda Casey paced the field in the 100 yard
backstroke with a time of 1:07.53. She also finished second in the 200 yard
backstroke in 2:32.25.

Alicia Wainwright posted two second place finishes, one in the 100 yard
breaststroke with a time of 1:19.15 and in the 200 yard breaststroke with a
2:52.80. Susan Hughes finished second in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:44.21.

Rounding out the scoring for King's, Sara Schmader and Caitlin Casey
finished 1-2 in the 100 yard butterfly, Schmader in 1:08.93 and C. Casey in
1:09.53.


Both teams will be back in the pool this weekend when they travel to Aurora,
NY to face the Wells College Express. Meet time is set to start at 2:00pm.
