KING'S MEN'S SWIMMING SPLITS WITH LYCO AND FDU
 
WILKES-BARRE --- Sophomore Eric Stencovage picked up a trio of top-three finishes to help the Monarch swim team split a tri-meet with Lycoming College and FDU-Florham Wednesday night at the Wilkes-Barre, C.Y.C. King's dominated FDU 79-29, but fell to the Warriors 81-36.
 
With the split results, King's improves to 4-7 overall and 1-4 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. Lycoming picked up another 81-23 win over the Devils to improve to 4-3 and 4-2 while with the dropped pair, FDU falls to 0-10 on the year and 0-7 in the league.
 
The first of Stencovage's finishes was a second in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:05.85. His final two individual place-finishes were in the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:35.86 and a top spot in the 100 yard butterfly, getting to the wall in 1:04.61.
 
Adding to the cause was freshman Brandon Senese, who came in third in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.00 and grabbed second place in the 400 yard IM in 5:11.94. Freshman Jack Harrington found second place in the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 24.87 and Ben Broedel finished third in the 100 yard freestyle event, touching in at 1:00.78.
 
The Monarch swimmers will be back in action this weekend when the team travels to Arcadia University in Glenside to compete in their final conference meet of the season. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
