King's Swimmers Split Men and Women's Meets With Messiah, Arcadia

KING'S WOMEN'S SWIMMERS SWEEP MESSIAH, ARCADIA, MEN DROP TWO

GRANTHAM – The King's College women's swim team posted a pair of victories over Arcadia University and host Messiah College Saturday in Grantham. King's men fell to both squads during the tri-meet.

The Lady Monarchs downed Arcadia 71-49 while adding a 65-55 win against Messiah to improve its season mark to 5-5. The men fell to 0-9 with the sweep.

For the King's women, Becca Smith won three events,  the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:54.15, the 100-freestyle at 1:01.82, and the 500-freestyle by posting a 5:52.81. Maggie Nealer captured the 200 freestyle with a 2:09.97 and the 200-individual medley at 2:32.78. Stephanie Hughes was victorious in the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:10.01

 

Amanda Casey touched first in the 50-freestyle at 29.29 and in the 200-backstroke at 2:34.76. Additionally, King's 200-freestyle relay team of Smith, Nealer, Carissa Cook, and Krystna Homanko won with a time of 1:52.61

 

For the men, Eric Stencovage was second in three events during the day. Stencovage swam a 1:07.49 in the 100-Backstroke, then followed up with a 2:36.46 in the 200 Breaststroke, before timing out at 2:23.63 in the 200-individual medley.

 

King's returns to the pool Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. tri-meet with Lycoming and FDU-Florham at the Wilkes-Barre C.Y.C.
