KING'S MEN'S SWIM TEAM EDGED BY DREW 91-89 IN 2011-12 SEASON OPENER
FULL RESULTS
WILKES-BARRE — The King's College men's swim opened up its 2011-12 season strong, but came out agonizingly short in a 91-89 loss to visiting Drew University Friday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.
Mike Sweeney won the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.65, then placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.85.
Justin Weilert captured the 500 freestyle at 5:37.52 and was second in the 100 butterfly with a 1:02.59.
Kyle Newton won the 200 individual medley with a 2:11.18.
Lucas Crock was second in the 50 freestyle at 24.61 and third in the 100 freestyle with a 56.43
Brian Matylewicz was second in the 100 backstroke at 1:08.10. Richie Guth was third in the 100 backstroke with a 1:09.56
The Monarch men will return to the pool Saturday with a 1:00 p.m matchup against Marywood University in Scranton.
