King's Men's Swimmers Defeat Cabrini 102-73

MONARCH MEN'S SWIMMERS DOWN CABRINI 102-73

WILKES-BARRE — Mike Sweeney won two individual events and was part of the winning 200-freestyle relay squad to lead the King's College men's swim team to a 102-73 victory over visiting Cabrini College Friday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, King's men's squad improved to 1-2 on the year while Cabrini slipped to 0-4.

Sweeney was the winner in the 50-freestyle with a time of 24.14 and also captured the 100-freestyle at 52.21. Kyle Newton won the 200-freestyle at 1:55.28 and was second in the 100-butterfly with a 57.88. Brian Matylewicz captured the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:29.51 and was second in the 100-backstroke at 1:08.43.

Matt Dickson won the 100-breaststroke with a 1:10.07 was third in the 200 individual medley at 2:28.73. Justin Weilert was second in the 200 individual medley with a 2:20.07 and also finished second in the 500-freestyle at 5:34.47.

Lucas Crock placed third in the 100-freestyle with a 56.33; Richie Guth was third in the 100-backstroke at 1:09.22; while Joe Westcoat was third in the 100-breaststroke with a 1:12.88 and fourth in the 50-freestyle at 26.77.

King's 200-freestyle relay squad of Newton, Crock, Weilert, and Sweeney were also winners with a time of 1:36.98. The Monarch 200-medley relay team of Guth, Westcoat, Dickson, and Crock
