GRANTHAM — The King's College men's swim team split with Messiah College and Arcadia University Saturday in Grantham. King's, in its first competition of 2012, defeated Arcadia 69-46 but fell to Messiah 79-42.

Kyle Newton won the 200-butterfly with a 2:10.53 as well as the 200 individual medley at 2:10.77.  Mike Sweeney captured the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:56.28 and was second in the 100-freestyle at 52.73 as well as in the 200-breaststroke with a 2:29.46

Justin Weilert was second in the 1,000-freestyle with a time of 11:28.85. The Monarch team of Sweeney, Weilert, Joe Wescoat, and Lucas Crock captured the 200-freestyle relay with a tie of 1:43.10.

King's Swimmers return to action Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. tri-meet with Lycoming and FDU-Florham at the Wilkes-Barre C.Y.C.
