KING'S SWIM TEAMS SWEPT BY HOOD, WOMEN EDGED OUT BY TWO POINTS

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's and men's swim teams both fell to visiting Hood College Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium. The Lady Monarchs lost a 100-98 heartbreaker while the men fell 126-57.
With the loss, the Lady Momnarchs slipped to 5-2 while the men fell to 1-6.
Patricia Manning won the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:36.59 and the 200-breaststroke at 2:35.64. Caroline Fitch was second in the 200-freestyle with a 2:11.43. Kimmie Brino was second in the 50-freestyle at 27.06 and the 200-butterfly with a 2:28.10.
Macawley Brown was second in the 200-individual medley with a time of 2:27.30 and in the 100-freestyle at 59.29. Erin McLin was second in the 200-backstroke with a 2:23.10
King's 200-freestyle relay team of Manning, McLin, MaryKate Bulger, and Shannon Johnson were victorious with a 1:52.93. The Lady Monarch 200-medley relay squad of McLin, Brown, Brino and Hailey Morehead also won by touching in at 2:03.09
For the men, Mike Sweeney captured the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:17.88 while Matt Dickson won the 200-breaststroke at 2:32.49.
Matt Thompson was second in the 200-butterfly with a 2:24.55. Justin Weilert finished second in the 500-freestyle at 5:38.53. Andrew Reimann placed second in the 100-freestyle at 52.70.
King's returns to action November 30 when the Monarchs host the first-ever, two-day Diamond City Invitational at the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center. King's will be joined by Misericordia, Scranton, Marywood, Hood, Mt. St. Mary (NY), Arcadia, and Division II East Stroudsburg University.
