APRIL 14, 2014PALMA PLACES 7TH AS KING'S GOLFERS FINISH 8TH AT GLENMAURA TOURNEYMOOSIC -- King's College freshman golfer Corey Palma fired a day-two round of 75 and finished in seventh place at the prestigious Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational Tournament which concluded Monday at Glenmaura National Golf Course in Moosic.Palma, who carded an 82 on Monday, shot a four-over on the Par-71 course to finish with a two-day score of 157 among a field of 59 players.Other King's golfers included Shamus Gartley who placed 24th overall with a 163; Mike Post, who was 33rd with a 169; Ryan Tracy, who finished 43rd at 174; and Ryan Hettes, who carded a 176 to stand 34th.As a team the Monarchs shot a 660 to place eighth in the 12-team field which included some of the top teams in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Traditional regional power McDaniel won the event with a 623, followed by Scranton (627), Susquehanna (639), York (642), and Swarthmore (643) to round out the top five.Glenmaura National Collegiate Inv.Glenmaura National Golf Course, Moosic, Pa.
