KING'S GOLFERS OPEN SEASON THIRD IN TRI-MEET

SCRANTON -- The King's College golf team opened its seaosn by finishing third in a tri-meet with local rivals Marywood University and the University of Scranton Tuesday at Glenmaura National.

Scranton finished first with a four-player score of 310 while Marywood (318) and King's (348) followed.

King's, which did not play any of its five returning starters from last season's Freedom Conference championship squad, was paced by first-year team member Kris Carr with an 86. Due to classes the Monarchs were only able to field a line-up of four players. Ryan Hettes and Mike Post followed with respective scores of 87, while Alex Rowan carded an 88.

King's will host Wilkes and Misericordia Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Wyoming Valley Country Club
