KING'S GOLFERS OPEN SEASON WITH 295-327 WIN OVER SCRANTON
WILKES-BARRE — The King's College golf team opened the 2016-17 season on a positive note as the Monarchs posted a 295-327 victory over the visiting University of Scranton Wednesday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley Country Club.
Ryan Crossin and
Ryan Georgetti shared medalist honors for King's, shooting identical scores of 73 on the Par-70, 6,178-yard course.
Shamus Gartley carded a 74 while defending Middle Atlantic Conference champion
Corey Palma followed with a 75. Freshmen
Tyler Papura and
Dean Canale rounded out the Monarch line-up with scores of 83 and 92 in their collegiate debuts
For Scranton, the Royals were led by Kyle Hayes with a 77 while Steven Lambrinakos carded a 79.
King's and Scranton will square off in another dual meet on Tuesday at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
