KING'S WOMEN'S HOCKEY FALLS TO NEUMANN

PITTSTON -- The visiting Neumann University women's ice hockey team broke open a tight game with five third period goals as the Knights posted a 7-0 victory over King's College Saturday night at Revolution Ice.

With the win, Neumann improved to 7-5-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. King's, meanwhile, slipped to 0-12-1 and 0-7-1 in the UCHC.

Bek Lukas scored 2:24 into the game to give Neumann a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.

The Knights made it a 2-0 game thanks to a King's penalty with 1:02 remaining in the second period. Lukas would score on a power play with 0:38 left on the clock off assists from Sammy Patrick and Jackie Schneider.

But in the third period Claudia Trionfo scored 0:49 into the frame to push the score to 3-0 and four more goals would follow, including an empty-net score with 0:02 left.

King's goalie Emma Zeveney made 41 saves in the game while Neumann keepers Julia Fair and Lizzie Yu combined for 14 stops.

King's will play its third game in as many days Sunday when Trine University ventures from the state of Indiana to face the Lady Monarchs at 2:00 PM at Revolution Ice.
