MOOSIC, PA (September 11, 2018) -- The King's College men's golf team battled the University of Scranton for the second time in a week, also taking on Keystone College in action from Glenmaura National Golf Course. The Monarchs were able to best Keystone, but Scranton won the tri-match with a team score of 319. King's finished with a score of 354, while Keystone tallied a 441.
King's was paced by junior
Tyler Papura, who fired a six-over 77 while tying for the tri-match lead, while sophomore and Pittston, PA native
Evan Murphy carded a 12-over 83. Freshman
Justin McMillan posted a 91, while
Lyle Luckenbill and
Anthony Spina fired scores of 103 and 119, respectively.
The Monarchs had to deal with the fact that the par-71, 6308-yard course was wet and played longer due to the recent rains. The wind also played a factor, though Papura was able to tie his previous 18-hole low round at King's, as he equaled a score from last season. Murphy also was two shots off his previous low-score, set last week against Scranton.
The Monarchs are back in action Thursday, taking on Marywood University at Glenmaura Golf Course at 1 p.m.
