WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 5, 2018) -- The King's College men's golf team opened its 2018-19 season Wednesday afternoon, falling to the University of Scranton 306-341 in action from the Wyoming Valley Country Club.
The Monarchs were led by sophomore
Evan Murphy, who fired a season-starting, 18-hole score of 81.
Connor Logoyda posted the day's second-best score for the Monarchs with an 84, while
Alex Rowan carded an 85.
Tyler Papura finished the round with a 91 on the day, and
Lyle Luckenbill finished with a 102 in the opening tournament of the season.
Scranton was paced by the 74 from Brett Lubba, while Nick Campanelli also finished with a 74 for the Royals.
The two teams will battle once again next Tuesday afternoon, heading to Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, PA for another dual match.
