WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 23, 2019) – The Monarchs get back to the pool for another conference matchup after their dual with Lycoming College was cancelled. King's College will swim against Misericordia University whose men sit at 4-3 overall and whose women are 7-2 in the season.

Last Time Out:  The Monarchs had a double dual against the Arcadia University Knights and the Messiah Falcons. The men split the day falling to the Knights 145-117 but topping the Falcons 173-83. They move to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in conference meets. The women dropped to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in conference swims coming up short against Messiah 177-85 and Arcadia 158-104.
 
The Book on the Monarchs:
	- The last time King's and the Cougars swam against each other was at Misericordia for a conference dual where King's men won 130-127 for the first time ever while the women fell 157-104.
 
	- The men are 5-0 at home meets and looking to keep their undefeated streak going. The women post a 3-2 at home record.
 
	- During their last meeting, the men's team set a new program record for dual meet victories in one season with an 8-2 record.
 
	- In their last swim, Senior Chris Soutter had two first place finishes, the 1000-yard freestyle (10:17.57) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.28) ranking him as the second top swimmer and the two top swims of the meet.
 
	- Kirsten Siwy ended the meet as the fourth top swimmer with three first place finishes.
 
The Book on the Cougars:
	- Misericordia men are 3-4 in the season splitting 1-1 in away swims, the women sit at 7-2 overall and 2-1 in away meets.
 
	- The last time out for the Cougars was a tri-meet facing Marywood University and University of Scranton. Both teams lost against Scranton but recorded a victory versus Marywood.
 
	- Andrea Carlson won first in the 100-yard backstroke and Kaitlyn Weatherby took the 200 fly while Mary Nikolski won the 500-yard freestyle and Grace Nikolski won the 200-yard IM.
 
	- Aidan Bergan won the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard freestyle for the Cougars.
 
	- This is the first MAC Freedom dual of the season for Misericordia.
 
 Up Next: King's hosts yet another MAC Freedom meet for their last regular season competition. Facing Wilkes University, the Monarchs will also honor their seniors. Action begins Saturday, February 2, at 1:00 p.m. at the Scandlon Pool.
