DALLAS, PA (April 9, 2019) -- The King's College men's golf team battled crosstown rival Wilkes University at a very difficult par-72, 6477 Huntsville Golf Club Tuesday, and the Monarchs were outlasted by the Colonels 343-389.
The Monarchs got their round underway through the first four holes but storms moved through the rolling hills of Huntsville Golf Club, forcing play to be suspended for nearly 30 minutes. An already soggy course would become even longer with the rain that came through, making it difficult for both teams to score.
King's was paced by senior
Tyler Papura, who finished with a team-best 83 on the day. Sophomore
Matt Havrilla posted a 92 on the day, while
Connor Logoyda shot a 106 and
Anthony Spina each carded a 108.
Freshman
Angela Vigliotti played her first collegiate match for the Monarchs, and played very well at times in recording a 118. Wilkes was led by Andrew Finke and his 78.
King's is back at home at Wyoming Valley Country Club Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. for another dual match against Marywood University.
