Faux leads Men's Golf to Split in First Match

MOOSIC, PA (September 10, 2019) -- In the opening match of the fall 2019 season, the King's College men's golf team posted a split, losing to host the University of Scranton, 315-335, and defeating Misericordia University, 335-414.

On a par-71 course, Scranton's Nicholas Campanelli posted a match-low 74 (+3). In his freshman debut, freshman Tyler Faux placed third overall to lead the Monarchs with a 78 (+7).

Junior Matt Havrilla also performed well, ranking second for the Monarchs and fifth overall with an 82 (+11). Other top Monarch performers were junior Evan Murphy, who tied for eighth with an 86 (+15), and senior Tyler Papura who finished 10th with an 89 (+18).

To round out the Monarch performers for the match were freshmen Ryan Ciocco and Colin Lagarde who tied for 11th with a 91 (+20).

The Monarchs return to action next Tuesday, September 17 at 1:00 pm as they host Wilkes University and FDU-Florham at Wyoming Valley Country Club.
