WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 17, 2019) -- In their first home invitational of the 2019-2020 season, the King's College men's golf team split, falling to FDU-Florham and defeating local rival Wilkes University at Wyoming Valley Country Club.
On a par-71 course, freshman
Tyler Faux led the Monarchs again, posting the lowest overall score and finishing first with a 76 (+5). Faux posted birdies on holes 1, 10, and 16 and pars on eight of the 18 holes to capture the top spot in today's match.
Fellow freshman
Ryan Ciocco placed second for the Monarchs and tied for second overall shooting a 79 (+8). Junior
Matt Havrilla was the other remaining Monarch to place in the top 10 in today's invitational, finishing eighth overall with an 85 (+14).
Other top Monarch performers today were junior
Evan Murphy who finished 11th overall, posting a 94 (+23), and freshman
Joseph Petrillo placed 13th, shooting 105 (+34) for the match.
The Monarchs return to action next Monday, September 23 as they visit local Misericordia University and their home course, Irem Temple Country Club, starting at 1:00 pm.
