Women's Golf Completes First Home Match

WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 23, 2019) -- On Saturday, September 21, the King's College women's golf team hosted their first home match, falling to the visiting Cougars of Misericordia University, 4-0, and the Colonels of Wilkes University, 3 1/2-1/2, at Wyoming Valley Country Club.

In the match play setting, the Monarchs fell again to the established Cougars program. Against the Colonels, Ellie Freeman was all square against her opponent, giving the Monarchs their score for the match.

For the 18-hole score, sophomore Angela Vigliotti lead the Monarchs with a 92 and junior Josée Aitken shot 124 for the top two Monarch performers. Rounding out the top four for King's were junior Jessica Tighe with a 139 and freshman Ellie Freeman with a 142.

The Monarchs upcoming match against the University of Scranton on October 12 has been postponed until the spring season. They are back in action on Saturday, October 26 as they travel to Fleetwood, PA and Golden Oaks Golf Club to face Wilkes, Misericordia, and Hood College starting at 1:00 pm.
