ORLANDO, FL (March 5, 2020) -- The King's College men's tennis team finished up competition on its 2020 Spring Break trip on Thursday, dropping a 7-2 non-conference match with Saint Vincent College in play from the USTA National Campus Center in Orlando, FL.
The Monarchs (1-8) got a win at No. 3 doubles in the opening grouping of matches, as junior
Jason Homschek and sophomore
Nick Holland teamed up to earn an easy 8-2 win over Sam Butler and Aaron Kuhn. The pair of Homschek and Holland lead the King's squad with five wins including four in dual matches.
All three doubles matches were tight, as sophomore
Nick Harth and senior
Cameron Tuck pushed the match to a tiebreak at 7-7 but couldn't earn the victory in a 7-5 tiebreak loss.
Austin Mackey, who was dealing with injury, along with
Logan Gregory also played well but dropped their No. 1 matchup with Jon Oskin and Josh Boland 8-5.
Mackey was pulled during his match at No. 1 singles as he battled with his injury, and Gregory hurt himself during doubles and was unable to continue after his first set at No. 2 doubles. Harth played well though for King's at No. 3 singles, as the sophomore cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win, his second dual meet win of the season.
The Monarchs will now set their sights on their next match, a road outing at Susquehanna University on Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m. in Selinsgrove, PA in non-conference action.
