WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 23, 2021) --- The King's College men's swimming team were defeated in their first home meet of the season by Cabrini 133-72.
The Monarchs opened up the day with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay at 1:44.55. Junior
Jared Stephan then captured the first win of the day for KC in the 1000 free with a time of 10:39.26, edging the second place finisher by just over a second.
Austin Morris continued his strong start to the season by placing second in the 200 free at 1:52.74.
Erik Aguero also notched a second place when he swam the 100 butterfly at 58.55, just shy of his career best which he set on Friday night.
The trio of
Andrew Pursel,
Ryan Bixler, and
Aidan Wilson went 3-4-5 in the 100 free.
Senior
Kris Boxter claimed a victory in the 100 breaststroke at 1:03.33, while
Austin Morris finished right behind him at 1:03.80.
The squad finished out the night earning second place in the 200 free relay with the lineup of Pursel,
Kyle Altman,
Alex Schwartz, and Bixler booking a 1:33.85. The Cabrini team narrowly beat out the Monarchs as they finished at 1:33.82.
The King's College men's swimming team will return to action next Saturday when they head to Mechanicsburg, PA for a meet with Messiah, Hood, and Widener.
