WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 12, 2021) --- The King's College men's swimming team were defeated 125-69 by Arcadia University on Friday evening at the Scandlon Pool.
The squad started their night in the 200 medley relay, with team of
Joel Williams,
Kris Boxter,
Erik Aguero, and
Kyle Altman placing second with a time of 1:44.50.Â
Sophomore
Anthony Ursini earned a second place finish in the 1000 freestyle at 10:55.93. First-year Altman then notched second in the 50 free with an impressive time of 22.96.Â
In a thrilling men's 400 IM,
Jared Stephan came roaring from behind to claim first place by eleven tenths of a second over George Wade of Arcadia.
Austin Morris placed third in the event for the Monarchs with a time of 4:37.34.
Aguero took home the victory in the 200 butterfly at 2:13.02, over four seconds faster than the second place finisher.Â
Sophomore
Andrew Pursel earned second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.91. Stephan then finished second in the 500 freestyle, booking a time of 5:14.07.
Boxter and Morris went 2-3 in the 200 breaststroke with times of 2:18.99 and 2:19.25 respectively. Both Monarchs were within a second of the top place finisher, Tyler Mui of Arcadia.
King's ended the meet finishing second and third in the 400 freestyle relay.
The Monarchs will look to rebound next weekend in the Diamond City Invitational.
