TUNKHANNOCK, PA (March 28, 2021) -- On a dreary and rainy Sunday afternoon, first-year
Paula Moon led the King's College women's golf team in their 2021 season opener at the Marywood quad-match at Stonehedge Golf Course.
Moon posted a team-low 80 on the par 71 course, tying for a second-place finish overall with Marywood's Abbie Laime. Moon's 80 is also a program-best, breaking junior
Angela Vigliotti's previous mark of 95 set in September 21, 2020 at Wyoming Valley Country Club.
University of Scranton's Victoria Dowling led all golfers with a 78. Scranton teammate Maddy Bohler and Wilkes University's Lauren Golden tied for fourth overall with an 82.
King's recorded a team score of 440 for the match behind Scranton's 332, Marywood's 358, and Wilkes' 382.
Vigliotti ranked second for the Monarchs, recording a 108 and placing 12th overall. Other top performers for the Monarchs were sophomore
Emma Knoll who totaled a 120 in her collegiate debut and senior
Josée Aitken who posted a 132 for the afternoon.
The Monarchs will return to play after the holiday break as they host local rivals Wilkes and Misericordia University in a tri-match on their home course at Wyoming Valley Country Club on Saturday, April 10 with tee time set for 1:00 p.m.
