WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 10, 2021) – In their 2021 home opener, the King's College women's golf team secured their first two program wins, defeating local rivals Wilkes University and Misericordia University, on their home course at Wyoming Valley Country Club on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs led the team scores with a 440, Misericordia posted a 456, and Wilkes totaled a 468 for the match on the par-73 course.
First-year Paula Moon led all participants with an 83 (+10) for the day. Misericordia's Maddy Wharton placed second with an 84 (+11), and Wilkes' Sarah Sorber placed third with a 97 (+24).
Junior Angela Vigliotti shot a 103 (+30), good for a fourth place finish. Other top Monarch participants were senior Josée Aitken who totaled a 126 (+53), and sophomore Emma Knoll recorded a 128 (+55).
King's has a quick turnaround as they compete in a tri-match at Misericordia's Irem Temple Golf Club tomorrow afternoon, weather permitting, with Wilkes and Misericordia. Tee time in Dallas, PA is set for 1:00 p.m.
