DALLAS, PA (April 6, 2021) -- Sophomore
Tyler Faux recorded a career-low 74 in the King's College men's golf 2021 season opener, but the Monarchs came up just short as they fell to the host Misericordia University, 343-345, at Irem Temple Golf Club on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon.
Faux's 74 (+2) was good for the top spot of the afternoon on the par-72 course. Senior
Matt Havrilla opened his final collegiate season on a high note, posting an 82 (+10) for a second-place overall finish in the match.
Misericordia was led by Colin Bowanko, Ryan Gilgallon, and Garrett Kolvenbach who all recorded an 84 (+12) which placed third overall.
Senior
Evan Murphy also started the 2021 season strong, placing sixth and shooting a 90 (+18). Other top Monarch performers were first-year
Michael Conflitti who recorded a 99 (+27) in his collegiate debut and sophomore
Joe Petrillo who posted a 101 (+29).
King's returns to the course on Monday, April 12 as they are set to host Misericordia and the University of Scranton at Wyoming Valley Country Club beginning at 1:00 p.m.
