Three Monarchs Record Career-Best Rounds in a Home Match Split

WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 14, 2021) -- Three different Monarch golfers recorded career lows on Tuesday afternoon as they split their home tri-match, defeating Misericordia, 334-356, and falling to Scranton, 301-334, on the par-71 course at Wyoming Valley Country Club.

Junior Tyler Faux led the Monarchs again with a team-low round of 77 (+6) to place third overall. Scranton's Nick Campanelli earned medalist honors with a match-low 70 (-1), and Ethan Zawatski posted a 73 (+2) to place second overall. Misericordia was led by Colin Bowanko with a team-low round of 87 (+16).

Senior Nicholas Kurzinsky recorded his career-low round with a 78 (+7) to place second overall for King's. Junior Joseph Petrillo also shot a career-low round with a score of 89 (+18), while sophomore Michael Conflitti topped his previous career-low round set just last week as he posted a 90 (+19).

First year Gavin Ruger rounded out the top King's golfers for the afternoon with a score of 99 (+28).

The Monarchs are back in action next week on Wednesday, September 22 as they host cross-town rival Wilkes on their home course at Wyoming Valley Country Club with tee time set for 1:00 p.m.
