WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 20, 2021) -- King's College Athletics and the wrestling program dedicated Ned McGinley on Saturday morning with the opening of the Ned McGinley Wrestling Facility.

Coach McGinley has made a tremendous impact on not only the wrestling program, but also King's College athletics and the local community. He started the wrestling program in 1968. In his 48 years of coaching he amassed 455 dual meet wins, 45 Division III National Tournament qualifiers, 20 MAC Champions, 18 NCAA Division III All-Americans, and 6 NCAA Division III National Finalists just to name a few of his many accomplishments.

As current wrestling head coach Josh Roosa said, "There's not a more fitting person to name the facility after. I respect and appreciate all of the values that Coach McGinley installed in the program, and I look to continue to build upon those values going forward. I hope his name hangs over our facility for a very long time."

Roosa plans to use the facility to help elevate the wrestling program in the coming years by allowing the program to focus on its priorities in building a competitive roster, increasing community involvement, and generating more alumni support.

Roosa had this to say about the new facility, "I definitely think this is a big step for us and our program to help with recruiting and bettering the program as a whole."
