MOOSIC, PA (September 28, 2021) -- Junior Joseph Petrillo recorded a new career-low round as he helped lead the King's College Monarchs men's golf team to a tri-match split at Glenmaura National Golf Club on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.
King's posted a team score of 347 (+63) on the par-71 course, good for a second-place overall finish. The host University of Scranton won the match with a score of 303 (+19), while Misericordia University placed third with a 360 (+76).
All five of Scranton's golfers led the way behind Nicholas Campanelli, Matthew Fleming, and Danny Harding who tied for the top place in the match with a match-low round of 75 (+4).
The Monarchs were led by junior
Tyler Faux who posted an 81 (+10) for the afternoon, good for sixth overall. Petrillo totaled a round of 86 (+15) for a seventh-place finish.
Misericordia was led by Brett Herman with a score of 86 (+15).
Other top golfers for the Monarchs in the match were sophomore
Michael Conflitti with a score of 89 (+18), senior
Nicholas Kurzinsky who totaled a 91 (+20), and first year
Gavin Ruger who posted a 100 (+29).
The Monarchs are scheduled to wrap up their fall schedule with a home match against Wilkes at Wyoming Valley Country Club on Thursday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m.
