DALLAS, PA (September 7, 2021) -- The King's College men's golf team took advantage of this beautiful Tuesday as they opened their 2021 fall season in a road tri-match hosted by Misericordia University. The Monarchs dropped both bouts on the afternoon, falling to the host Cougars, 397-357, and trailing the University of Scranton Royals, 397-295.
Junior
Tyler Faux led the way for the Monarchs at Irem Temple Golf Club, recording a team-low round of 83 (+11) on the par-72 course.
Scranton's Ethan Zawatski won the individual title in the tri-match, totaling an even score with a round of 72. The Royals also took the top five spots in the final standings for the match. Misericordia was led by Colin Bowanko with a team-low round of 80 (+8).
Sophomore
Michael Conflitti placed second for the Monarchs with a score of 99 (+27) with first-year teammate
Gavin Ruger right behind with a 106 (+34) in his collegiate debut.
Other top Monarch finishers for the day included sophomore
Zach Edwards, who totaled a 109 (+37) for the round, and newcomer
Samuel Savitski-Webb, who posted a 126 (+54) in his collegiate debut with King's.
The Monarchs have a quick turnaround as they host cross-town rival Wilkes University at their home course at Wyoming Valley Country Club tomorrow afternoon with tee time set for 1:00 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre.
