WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 22, 2022) --- On Saturday afternoon, the King's College men's swimming team were topped by Misericordia University 116-76 in live action from the Scandlon Pool.
Austin Morris secured the lone win on the day for the Monarchs with a tremendous swim in the 200 freestyle, clocking in at 1:53.21.
The squad got their day underway in the 200 medley relay where the team of Morris,
Kris Boxter,
Jared Stephan,
Andrew Pursel took second at 1:42.99.Â
Andrew Pursel and
Kyle Altman went two-three in the 50 free with solid times of 23.13 and 23.28 respectively. Boxter then placed second for King's in the 200 IM, booking a 2:15.30.
Pursel and Altman finished side-by-side again in the 100 free earning second and third respectively. Pursel swam a 50.57, while Altman finished at 51.66.
In the 200 backstroke, Morris and
Joel Williams finished second and third, booking times of 2:14.05 and 2:22.18. Stephan took second place in the 500 free with a swim of 5:23.16. In the same race,
Anthony Ursini notched third at 5:24.72.Â
Boxter,
Alex Schwartz and
Matt Lowry finished two-three-four in the 200 breaststroke before the Monarchs finished out the day with a second place finish in the 200 free relay.
King's will return to Scandlon Pool next Saturday when the host local rival Wilkes University at 1:00 PM.
