CENTER VALLEY, PA (October 29, 2022) – In their final match up of the 2022 season, the King's College men's soccer team ended on a high note, earning an exciting 2-0 win over the host DeSales University on Saturday afternoon at the DeSales Soccer Field. The Monarchs finish their 2022 campaign 5-12-2 and 1-7-0 in the MAC Freedom, while the Bulldogs fall to 6-10-2 and 1-6-1 in conference play.
King's (5-12-2, 1-7-0 MAC Freedom) started the match up strong as they fired off the first three shots of the game before sophomore
Evan Egnatovich scored an unassisted goal for his first of the season to give King's the early 1-0 advantage in the ninth minute of play. The teams traded shots down the stretch in the half before heading into the break as they maintained their 1-0 advantage.
Each time the DeSales (6-10-2, 1-6-1 MAC Freedom) offense attempted to post an equalizer, the Monarchs defense and junior goalkeeper Jacob Forst turned them away to maintain their lead. It was in the 82

Aziz Atiyeh connected with fellow-senior
Justin Decoteau for his first goal of the season and third of his career to give the Monarchs their insurance goal and the win, 2-0, in the MAC Freedom match up in Center Valley, Pa.
Egnatovich led the offensive efforts with two points on his goal off a team-high five shots, including two on target. Decoteau added two points on his goal, while Atiyeh picked up one. First year
Philip Permyashkin totaled three shots, while goalie Jacob Forst made five saves in the win in the net.
The Bulldogs were led by a five-shot effort from Elek McDonald, while Tyler Horton posted three saves in 53:14 of action.
As a team, the Monarchs posted three corner kicks while matching DeSales in the shot column with 18. King's held the edge in shots on target, 6-5, over the Bulldogs.
