CHESTER, PA (October 29, 2022)-- The King's College men's swimming team competed in their first quad-match of the season, where they fell to Widener University, Hood College and Messiah University. With these losses the Monarchs fall to 1-4 on the year.
The first men's event to feature a King's swimmer was the 1000 yard freestyle, where junior
Anthony Ursini finished in fourth with a time of 11:26.17. Next came the 200 free which featured three Monarchs. Senior
Ryan Bixler had the top finish of the three at 1:54.55, good for fourth out of 11. Senior
Erik Aguero finished the event in seventh at 2:02.37. Junior
Joey Slish rounded out the Monarchs in the event with a 10th place time of 2:10.22.

Andrew Pursel saw his first action in the 50 free, where he finished in fifth out of 15 swimmers with a time of 23.30. First year
Blaze Graham and junior
Anthony Macko also took part in the event. They finished in ninth and 10th with times of 23.65 and 23.93.
Aguero came in eighth in the 200 butterfly in 2:17.39. Slish finished the same event in 10th at 2:35.26.
The next men's event was the 100 free. This event saw three different Monarchs compete. Pursel finished in sixth with a time of 52.04. Graham followed in seventh at 52.28 while Macko finished in ninth with a time of 54.01.
In the 200 yard backstroke Bixler came in ninth place at 2:25.37. The following event was the 500 free where Aguero and Ursini came in fifth and sixth place. The final event of the day was the 200 free relay. The team of Bixler, Graham, Macko, and Pusel came in fourth at 1:32.86. Pursel ran the best leg out of the four with a time of 22.35.

The men's swimming team will be back at Scandlon Natorium on Friday where they will host a tri-match against Lebanon Valley College and FDU-Florham beginning at 6:30 p.m.
