King's College Men's Swimming Falls to Arcadia

GLENSIDE, PA (November 11, 2022) -- Coming off of last week's tri-meet sweep, the King's College Monarchs men's swimming team hit the road for the third time this season on Friday night for a meet with the Arcadia University Knights. The Monarchs fell to the Knights by a final of 181-49. With this loss, King's drops to 3-5 on the year while Arcadia improves to 4-1. 

The first event was the 400 yard medley relay. The event was run by Ryan BixlerAndrew Pursel, Erik Aguero and Blaze Graham for the Monarchs. The team finished in third place with a time of 4:01.52.

The next event for the men which King's took part in was the 200 yard freestyle. Graham finsihed in fourth place in the event at 1:57.98. Anthony Ursini followed in fifth with a time of 1:59.74. The men would see action again in the 50 yard breaststroke. Pursel swam for the Monarchs coming in third place with a time of 29.76. 

The 100 yard butterfly featured Aguero and Joey Slish. Aguero came in third place with a time of 59.52 and Slish in fifth at 1:07.56. 

Anthony Macko saw his first action on the night in the 50 free. He came away with a second place finish at 23.71. Bixler and Graham followed with times of 23.91 and 24.24.

Bixler, Macko and Ursini represented the Monarchs in the 100 free. Bixler had another third place finish with a time of 51.76. Macko came in fourth at 53.69 and Ursini in fifth at 55.25. Ursini would also compete in the 500 free where had a fourth place finish at 5:29.39.

The men had their best finish in the 50 fly. Graham came out on top at 25.20. Pursel came in second at 25.60, and Slish rounded out the race in fourth at 29.43. 

Aguero competed in the 200 yard Individual Medley event. He came in third at 2:18.48. The final event of the night was the 200 yard free relay. This featured Pursel, Macko, Ursini, and Slish for the Monarchs. The team finished in third place with a time of 1:37.43. Pursel ran the fastest leg for King's at 23.20. 

The men's swimming team will host the Diamond City Invitational next weekend which will begin on Friday night at 5:00 p.m. and go till Sunday.
