FLEETWOOD, PA (March 20, 2022) -- In their first match of their spring 2022 season, the King's College women's golf team had a stellar start, tying with Hood College and defeating Wilkes University. King's and Hood both posted a team score of 376, while Wilkes totaled a 403 on the par-72 course at Golden Oaks Country Club in Fleetwood, Pa. on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore
Evie Williams made an instant mark on the Monarchs women's golf team in her debut in the red and gold, tying for first overall for the individual title with a score of 86 (+14) with Hood's Mary Emma Guldi. Fellow sophomore
Paula Moon then placed next in the rankings with a low-round of 87 (+15).
First year
Mady Pendolphi continued her solid play for the Monarchs with a 98 (+26) in the round to finish eighth overall in the field of 16. Senior
Angela Vigliotti rounded out the top Monarch golfers with a score of 105 (+33) to place tenth in the match.
Additionally, fifth year Josée Aitken finished with a score of 115 (+43), and junior
Emma Knoll shot a round of 117 (+45).
The Monarchs will be off for the week while they prepare for their next match on Saturday, April 2. King's will then travel to Stonehedge Golf Club for a tri-match with the host University of Scranton and Wilkes for a 12:00 p.m. tee time.
