Gilroy Leads Monarchs in Quad Match

WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 6, 2022) -- First year JP Gilroy recorded a career-low round to lead the King's College men's golf team in their home quad match at Wyoming Valley Country Club on Wednesday afternoon. The Monarchs finished fourth with a team score of 338. The University of Scranton earned the top spot as they shot a 302, Misericordia University finished second with a team score of 330, while Wilkes University totaled a round of 338 on the par 71 course.

Gilroy led King's with a low-round of 80 (+9) to finish seventh overall. Misericordia's Ethan Zawatski earned individual medalist honors with a round of 71 (E), while the University of Scranton took the next four spots in the standings. Wilkes was led by Michael Sherrick who shot a 78 (+7).

Junior Joe Petrillo shot his career-low round of 83 (+12) in the match to finish 11th out of 19 golfers. Senior Nicholas Kurzinksy scored a round of 85 (+14), while sophomore Michael Conflitti recorded a round of 90 (+19). Senior Zach Edwards rounded out the Monarch golfers in the event as he shot a 99 (+28).

The Monarchs will head up to Moosic, Pa. on Saturday for a practice round before competing in the first round of the Glenmaura Tournament on Sunday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m.
