WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 18, 2022) -- For the first time this fall, the King's College women's golf team competed on their home course at Wyoming Valley Country Club. The Monarchs had a strong showing on Sunday afternoon, finishing second in the field of four teams, as they recorded a team score of 367. The final tally was just five strokes behind the University of Scranton (362) and was good enough for a win over Misericordia (435).
On the par-71 course, the Monarchs were led by the junior tandem of
Evie Williams and
Paula Moon. Williams led with a round of 81 (+10) to tie for individual medalist honors, while Moon was just one stroke back with a score of 82 (+11).
Scranton's Victoria Dowling matched the efforts of Williams on Sunday afternoon with her own tally of 81 (+10). Misericordia was led by Jordyn Ruane who recorded a team-lowround of 90 (+19), while Wilkes saw individual Morgan Andretti score a round of 121 (+40).
Other Monarchs on the course in the match included sophomore
Mady Pendolphi as she recorded a 98 (+27) in the match and senior
Emma Grace Knoll with a match score of 106 (+35).
King's will take a break from competition until their next scheduled match against Wilkes at nearby Mill Race Golf Course on October 23.
