WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 21, 2022) -- For the first time in their fall 2022 season, the King's College men's golf team competed on their home course at Wyoming Valley Country Club and delivered a stellar team performance in the match. The Monarchs won the match with a team score of 323 (+43), defeating Wilkes University (346) and Lycoming College (399) in the contest. In addition, senior
Tyler Faux earned individual medalist honors as he recorded a match-low round of 75 (+5) to pace King's in the win.
On the par-70 course, junior
Michael Conflitti also had a career day as he recorded a personal best round of 79 (+9) and tied for second overall with Wilkes' Cole Jungwirth. Austin Craig led Lycoming as he carded a round of 88 (+18) to finish tied for sixth.
Sophomore
JP Gilroy had a strong outing for the Monarchs, totaling a round of 80 (+10) to tie his career-best round and finish fourth, while senior
Joe Petrillo posted a round of 89 (+19). To round out the Monarch golfers was sophomore
Jackson Grozelle who made his collegiate debut with a score of 94 (+24) for his first match at Wyoming Valley Country Club.
King's will enjoy the weekend off as they prepare to close out their fall schedule with a home match on Tuesday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. against Misericordia University. The Monarchs will then conclude their fall slate with a tri-match at Wyoming Valley Country Club against the University of Scranton and Clarks Summit University on Thursday, September 29.
