WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 20, 2023) -- With the season on the horizon and the preparations underway, the King's College softball team released the date and information for their 2023 Monarch Softball Champions Clinic. The clinic will take place on Sunday, February 19 and is open to girls ages 9 to 18.

The day will begin with the pitching clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Scandlon Physical Education Center Auxiliary Gym. This session will help girls throw faster with more accuracy and emphasize solid fundamentals and how to attack the strike zone with special instruction from King's alumna and All-American Ashley Lynn Kowalski. Pitchers are responsible for bringing their own catcher.

The afternoon will feature a hitting skills clinic from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. also in the Scandlon Physical Education Center Auxiliary Gym. Attendees will learn to hit harder and raise their batting average with a quick and compact swing, and they will participate in footwork and position-specific drills as well as drills to use at home. The girls will also complete a dedicated session for softball-specific strength, speed, agility, and injury prevention.

The cost for attendance is $45 for an individual for a session or $80 for an individual for both sessions. Groups of five or more will receive a reduced rate of $40 for each session or $75 for both sessions. Participants will also receive a free t-shirt.
