Fronheiser Takes Second at Racich Rumble Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, PA (NOVEMBER 11, 2023) -- The King's College wrestling team were 10th of 14 teams at the annual Racich Rumble Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs witnessed Richard Fronheiser place second and Shane Kibler right behind him at third place.

Patrick Horvath - 125
Horvath fell against Worcester Polytechnic's Tanner Thatcher. He turned around and won in a 20-19 decision against Andrew Perez of Ursinus. Horvath lost in a decision to Ursinus' Michael Adams. In his final match, the Monarch stood victorious in a 4-2 decision against Thomas Fitcher of New York University.

Cole Anderson - 133
Anderson fell to Alex Paxhla of Trinity and lost in a 8-1 decision to Washington & Lee's Calvin Wledeemer.

Hugh Bittenbender - 141
Bittenbender dropped in a 15-9 decision to Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) opponent Delaware Valley's Devin Horton. He turned around and celebrated a 16-1 technical fall to Nolan Sharp of Trinity. Bittenbender was defeated in a 20-6 decision against Ursinus' Andrew Schaen

Nick Germano - 141
Germano lossed to Jonah Weber of Worcester Polytechnic in a 8-3 decision. He bounced back and bested Messiah's Josh Flores in a 9-8 decision. Germano won in a 11-0 decision to Andrew Minko of Ursinus. He lost his last bout in a 19-5 decision to Cole Grove of West Chester University.

Noah Clawson - 141
Clawson took a 18-3 technical fall to Malachi Harvey of Messiah and a 11-3 decision to New York University's Nick Kruczynski. He won his next to matches in a 10-3 decision against Mason Basara of Worcester Polytechnic and a 5:41 pin to Ursinus' Andrew Minko. 

Brian Hopkins - 149
Hopkins fell to Delaware Valley's Ethan Melendez in 2:49 and to Dante Monaco of Ursinus in 1:11.

MJ Turi - 149
Turi was defeated by Delaware Valley's Ricky Horger in a 8-2 decision and to Shane Strausser of Elizabethtown in a 9-2 decision. Turi came back and outlasted MAC opponent Aiden Swann of Alvernia in a 12-4 decision. 

Shane Kibler - 149
Kibler made his sophomore season debut with a third place finish. He wio by decision against Trinity's Christopher Perry. Kibler lossed to Evan Linder of Washington & Lee in a 10-1 decision. The Monarch polished the rest of the afternoon with three straight wins, a 15-11 decision against Alvernia's Quinn Tobin, a 13-4 decision to Noah Rice of Messiah, and a 1:05 pin against Delaware Valley's Artem Reichert.

Bret Murphy - 157
Murphy suffered a loss to Fritz Maurath of Johns Hopkins in a 10-1 decision. He took a win against Washington & Lee's Harper Meacham in a 9-2 decision and won in another 8-2 decision to Delaware Valley's Michael Bears. Murphy pinned Nate Puchalski of Johns Hopkins in 5:49. He lost in a 6-3 decision to Elizabethtown's Gavin Fehr and took a 20-5 technical fall loss against Worcester Polytechnic's Zach Rloux.

Alex Ballantyne - 165
Ballantyne was pinned by Caden Droege of Elizabethtown in 1:57 and fell to Elizabethtown's Brian Schneider in 0:28.

Francis Theroux - 174
Theroux lost to Ryan Addeche of Worcester Polytechnic. He came back and won against John Sumner. Theroux fell to Ursinus' Sean Cowan in 3:23. He won his last match of the afternoon in a 16-0 technical fall to Caleb Bowlin of Elizabethtown.

Connor Wrobleski - 184
Wrobleski beat Marco Bragado of Trinity in a 8-3 decision. Messiah's Ryder Slayton defeated him in a 7-0 decision. Wrobleski stood victorious in a 1:45 fall against Elliot Lee of Johns Hopkins. 

Elijah Rivera - 197
Rivera was pinned by Alvernia's Daniel Schweizer in 1:52 and fell to Gavin Wagner of Elizabethtown in 2:12. 

Jacob Hachtmann - 197
Hachtmann dropped his first match in a 8-4 decision to York's Devon O'dell and lost to Worcester Polytechnic's Joe Bernard in a 5-1 decision.

Richard Fronheiser - 197
Fronheiser saw success as he placed second in Saturday's invitational. He lost his first battle in a 19-4 technical fall to Mauro Pellot of Alvernia. He defeated Messiah's Mlcah Kunkle in an 11-6 decision. Fronheiser won against Jack Farinaro of New York University and extinguished Ursinus' Connor Fritsch in a 13-5 decision.

Nick Valenzano - 285 
Valenzano dropped his first contest to Alvernia's Aiden Homan in a 9-4 decision and fell to Timothy Glynn of Trinity in 2:53. 

The Monarchs are back in action for a home bout against Gettysburg at 10:30 a.m. in McGrane Gymnasium on Saturday, November 18th. The squad will take a two week break for Thanksgiving and will return on the road for the two day Messiah Petrofes Invitational from December 1st-2nd.
