WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 2, 2023) -- In their Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) openers, the King's College men's tennis team dropped a pair of 9-0 losses to FDU-Florham and Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday. With the losses, the Monarchs drop to 4-6 and 0-2 in the MAC Freedom, while the Devils improve to 3-2 and 1-0 in the conference, and the Ducks stand at 5-6 with an 0-2 conference mark.
 
vs. FDU-Florham – L, 0-9:
The No. 1 doubles match saw Logan Gregory and John Toussaint fall, 8-1, to the Devils pair, while Patrick Pech and Aidan Temple teamed up to battle with FDU-Florham before falling 8-5 in the No. 2 doubles contest. Nick Harth and Brendan Turowski rounded out the doubles play in the No. 3 doubles match with an 8-2 loss to the Devils.
 
Gregory was downed by sets of 6-0 and 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match to Tyler Crook, while the No. 2 singles contest saw Toussaint drop sets of 6-4 and 6-1 to Joni Carasso. Pech fell by a pair of 6-1 sets to Zach Puccia in the No. 3 singles bout, before Harth dropped sets of 6-2 and 6-3 to Ronald Duval at No. 4 singles. In the No. 5 singles match, Temple fell, 6-2 and 6-0, to Matthew Emery, while Turowski dropped 6-1 and 6-2 sets in the No. 6 singles contest to Karanveer Saini.
 
vs. Stevens – L, 0-9:
In their second match of the day, the No. 1 doubles pair of Gregory and Toussaint drop an 8-2 decision to the Ducks, while Harth and Turowski fell by a score of 8-2 to Stevens in No. 2 doubles play. The team of Jacob Nelson and Temple were downed, 8-0, to the Ducks in the No. 3 doubles match.
 
Singles play saw Gregory fall by a pair of 6-1 sets to Aashi Kulakarni in the No. 1 contest, while Toussaint saw a similar fate with a pair of 6-1 losses at No. 2 singles to Andrew He. Pech lost sets of 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 3 singles to Max-William Kanz, and Temple dropped a pair of 6-0 sets at No. 4 singles to Matt Luzzi. Turowski saw defeat to Olof Persson by sets of 6-1 and 6-0, before Cody Zheng rounded out play with set losses of 6-0 to Troy Zhang at No. 6 singles.
