WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 2, 2023) -- The King's College women's tennis team extended their win streak to three with a dominant 9-0 win over FDU-Florham to start the day before falling, 9-0, to perennial powerhouse Stevens Institute of Technology in the afternoon. With the split, the Monarchs stand at 3-6 and 1-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) standings, while the Devils fall to 1-4 and 0-1 in the conference, and the Ducks improve to 3-5 and 2-0 in the MAC Freedom.

vs. FDU-Florham – W, 9-0:
In singles play,
Ashley Kenia defeated Maggie Cronkhite by sets of 6-1 and 6-2 at No. 1 singles. The No. 2 singles match featured
Hailey D'Amato handing Ella Olson a pair of 6-1 losses, while
Jackie Costello posted wins of 6-1 and 6-0 over Ashley Gaetani in the No. 3 singles bout.

Braelan Drollas picked up wins of 7-5 and 6-4 over Paula Vanegas in the No. 4 singles contest, before
Payton Lloyd won the No. 5 singles match with sets of 6-3 and 6-0 over Emily Prachthauser.
Emma Rooney rounded out the singles sweep at No. 6 singles over Kiana Rosa with wins of 6-1 and 6-4.

Doubles play saw Kenia and D'Amato dominate the No. 1 doubles match with an 8-0 win over the Devils pair. Costello teamed up with Drollas to earn an 8-5 decision over FDU-Florham at No. 2 doubles, while Lloyd and Rooney completed the shutout at No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 victory over the Devils.

The perennial powerhouse in Stevens dominated King's in their second match of the day. Kenia dropped sets of 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 1 singles to Agatha Malinowski, while D'Amato was downed by sets of 6-1 and 6-0 to Emma Eguia in the No. 2 singles match. The No. 3 singles contest saw Costello fall by Isabella Dona by sets of 6-0 and 6-4, and Drollas fell by a pair of 6-1 sets to Juliette Marchisio in No. 4 singles play. Lloyd lost to Anusha Singh at No. 5 singles, 6-1 and 6-3, while Rooney rounded out the singles competition with set losses of 6-2 and 6-1 to Aliona Heitz in the No. 6 singles contest.
