WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 26, 2023) --
Jackson Grozelle and
Gavin Ruger carded new career-lows in a single round on Tuesday afternoon as the King's College men's golf team split their home tri-match, defeating Misericordia and falling to Wilkes. At Wyoming Valley Country Club, the Monarchs totaled a team score of 342 (+62), while Wilkes won the match with a round of 329 (+49), and Misericordia finished third with a score of 351 (+71).

JP Gilroy paced the Monarchs with a team-low round of 84 (+14) on the par-70 course to finish fifth out of 15 golfers. Ruger put up his career-low round of 85 (+15) and tied for sixth, while
Jackson Grozelle placed eight, finishing one stroke back in eighth with a round of 86 (+16).

Bryce Burgit was the next top finisher for King's, cracking the top-10 and tying for ninth with a round of 87 (+17), while
Michael Conflitti rounded out the Monarch golfers with a score of 90 (+20).

Max Cocchi of Wilkes earned individual medalist honors with a match-low round of 78 (+8), while Misericordia's Brett Herman and Wilkes' Cole Jungwirth tied for second with a score of 79 (+9).

King's will take a brief break from the courses before returning to action on Tuesday, October 10. The Monarchs will head up to Dallas, Pa. to take on Misericordia at Irem Temple Country Club with tee time set for 1:00 p.m.
